Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how Fintech Holdings LLC, doing business as RebelText ("RebelText," "we," "us," "our"), collects, uses and shares information when you visit https://rebeltext.com (the "Site") or use the RebelText customer console and API (together with the Site, the "Services").
RebelText is an SMS messaging platform for businesses. This policy covers two kinds of information:
- Information about our customers and site visitors, such as the people who apply for, manage or pay for a RebelText account. We decide how this information is used.
- Information our customers send through the Services, such as their contacts, recipient phone numbers and message content ("Customer Data"). Our customers own and control Customer Data. We process it on their behalf, only to provide the Services, as described in the Customer Data section below.
If you have received a text message from a business that uses RebelText, that business is responsible for your information. To stop its messages, reply STOP. To ask about your information, contact the business directly.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Contact and application details: your name, business name, email address, phone number, job title, website, and what you tell us about your business and messaging when you contact sales or apply for an account.
- Account details: the names and email addresses of the people who sign in to your account, and your account settings.
- Registration details: the information carriers require to register your 10DLC brand and campaign, such as your legal business name, tax identification number, business address, business contact, use case, sample messages and how you collect consent.
- Billing details: your billing name and address, and the transactions on your account. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Support communications: the emails and support tickets you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and log data: your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, the time of your visit, and the API requests made with your account's keys, including their timing and results.
- Cookies: the console uses cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your account. The Site may use cookies to remember your preferences and to understand how it is used. You can block cookies in your browser, but the console will not work without its sign-in cookies.
Customer Data
When you use the Services, we process the Customer Data you send through them, including recipient phone numbers, message content, the messages your numbers receive, opt-out records, and the delivery status of every message.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- review applications and approve accounts;
- provide, operate and maintain the Services, including sending and receiving messages and showing logs and reports;
- register your brand and campaign with The Campaign Registry and carriers;
- bill you and process payments;
- respond to support requests;
- send you service, billing and security messages;
- monitor for and prevent fraud, abuse, spam and breaches of our Terms & Conditions, including reviewing message traffic for prohibited content and carrier complaints;
- honour opt-outs at the platform level;
- improve the Services; and
- comply with the law, carrier rules and requests from carriers, regulators and law enforcement.
We may send you information about RebelText's own products by email. You can opt out of these emails at any time using the link in the email.
Customer Data
Our customers own their Customer Data. We process it only on their instructions and to provide the Services, which includes delivering messages, keeping records, preventing abuse, and meeting legal and carrier obligations.
We do not sell Customer Data, and we do not use recipients' phone numbers or message content to market to them or to anyone else.
Our customers are responsible for having a lawful basis and the required consent to message their recipients, and for responding to recipients' requests about their information.
Mobile Information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the service providers that help us deliver messages, such as carriers and messaging providers, and only for that purpose.
Retention
We keep account, registration and billing information for as long as your account is open, and afterwards for as long as we need it to meet legal, tax, accounting and carrier requirements and to resolve disputes.
We keep message records, logs and opt-out records for as long as needed to provide the Services, investigate abuse and carrier complaints, and meet legal and carrier requirements. Opt-out records are kept for as long as needed to keep honouring them.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls and two-factor authentication for our staff. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information. Keep your passwords and API keys confidential, and tell us at support@rebeltext.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
Your Choices and Rights
You can view and update your account information in the console, or by contacting us.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to or limit how we use it. To make a request, email support@rebeltext.com. We will verify your identity before acting on it, and we will not discriminate against you for making a request. We may keep information we are required to keep by law or that we need to honour opt-outs.
If your request concerns Customer Data, such as a phone number that received messages from one of our customers, we will refer it to that customer, who controls that data.
Children's Privacy
The Services are for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
International Users
The Services are hosted in the United States. If you use them from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date, and we will tell customers by email about material changes.
